Global One, Bangladesh Country Office has made a significant impact with the successful distribution of 104 Hand Pumps under the ‘Shallow Tubewell Installation Project-2024 in Bangladesh’. This project, implemented in Sahapara Union, Gaibandha Sadar, Gaibandha, has provided vital access to clean water for 104 families.

A core focus of this project was inclusivity, ensuring that gender equity and support for marginalized groups were prioritized. Women and girls, who are often burdened with the task of fetching water, now have more time for education and other productive activities, thereby empowering them and promoting gender equality. Additionally, the project specifically targeted families with Persons With Disabilities (PWD) and Extremely Vulnerable Individuals (EVI), ensuring they too benefit from this essential resource.

By providing these hand pumps, and after installation Global One will reduce the prevalence of waterborne diseases, lower healthcare costs, and improve overall community resilience. The availability of clean water is a cornerstone of development, and this project is a testament to Global One’s commitment to fostering sustainable and inclusive growth. This initiative will pave the way for healthier, more empowered communities, reinforcing the organization’s mission to address basic needs and enhance the quality of life in underserved areas.
